WHAT MAKES A WHEEL “FORGED”?

Forged wheels start as a solid block of 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, then are pressed under extreme pressure to increase strength, density, and structural integrity.

Then they’re CNC machined into the final design.

This process creates:

  • A tighter grain structure

  • Stronger material

  • Higher load capability

  • Better resistance to cracking

  • Cleaner, sharper machining

  • Significantly lighter weight

Forged wheels aren’t made — they’re engineered.


FORGED VS CAST WHEELS

CAST WHEELS

  • Poured molten aluminum into a mold

  • Weak grain structure

  • Can crack easily

  • Heavy

  • Cheap to produce

  • Limited design detail

  • Not ideal for lifted or heavy trucks

  • Not recommended for high-stress or high-power vehicles

Cast wheels are mass-produced.
Forged wheels are crafted.


FORGED VS FLOW-FORMED WHEELS

Flow-formed wheels are just cast wheels with a spun barrel.

They are NOT forged, and they will never match the strength or machining detail of a true forged wheel.

FLOW-FORMED WHEELS

  • Cast center — still weak

  • Spun barrel — slightly stronger

  • Limited design capability

  • Not suitable for deep, aggressive cuts

  • Not ideal for show builds

  • Not a premium option

Flow-formed is the middle ground — not the real deal.

We use true forged 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum because:
